Israeli Airstrike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital Kills 15, Including Four Journalists

By Middle East Conflict

At least 15 people, including four journalists from international media, were killed in an Israeli strike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to local officials.

Those killed include Reuters cameraman Husam al-Masri, Associated Press freelancer Mariam Dagga, Al Jazeera reporter Mohammed Salameh, and NBC photographer Muath Abu Taha. Gaza’s Civil Defence also confirmed that one of its members died in the attack.

The strike involved two separate hits, with the second blast occurring as rescuers rushed to help victims of the initial strike. Witnesses described scenes of chaos, smoke, and ambulances outside the hospital.

The UN’s Human Rights Office condemned the attack as a “grave breach of international law,” while press groups demanded accountability.

This incident follows another deadly strike near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City just two weeks earlier, which killed six journalists. Advocacy groups such as the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) accused Israel of failing to provide evidence to justify targeting members of the press.

The Israeli military issued no immediate comment on the Nasser Hospital strike, but has previously alleged that some journalists were tied to Hamas, claims strongly disputed by media organizations.
